I care a lot about human rights, so I like to keep up on the latest issues facing the human rights movement. I don't look to BBC or anyone big like that, but I follow an up and coming blog, Outspoken Ally, written by Joshua Osborne.
Josh focuses on the issues facing the queer community. Josh's earliest posts mostly combated the Christian faith, or more specifically, the Conservative churches, on their homophobic and heteronormative tendencies. Recently Josh has also done blogs relating to Katlyn Jenner's view of marriage equality and criticisms of the blue collor culture, just as a couple of examples of some more unique topics Josh covers. Josh also has a section of the blog dedicated to debunking the popular biblical reasoning for the homophobia of the Church. Many Christians turn to rather vague passages in the Bible to justify what they say and do, but Josh does a very nice job of taking those passages and shoving them right back in the Church's face.
I enjoy Outspoken Ally because Josh has a very sassy voice to their writing, and speaks on behalf of the Queer community very well. If you're in denial that the Church has been wrong for the past 2000 years, Outspoken Ally may not be for you, but if you care about freedom and equality, Outspoken Ally is an awesome way to get a very educated perspective on both the daily and global issues facing the Queer community today.
This has been Matheson, your lord and master; stay classy, my heathens.
